Tis the season for love!

Posted on

Well, it’s that time of year again. The start of another semester. This semester, though, I have a new attitude. Both when it comes to school and when it comes to life.

This is the semester of work. I’ve never gone into a semester of school with a 4.0 GPA, but this is my year. I have goals and drive this year. I am, in fact, going into the semester with a 4.0 and I couldn’t be more excited to work my ass off for another 4.0 semester.

Along with school, I am working my ass off to get into shape. Okay, maybe not that intense, but so far I’ve made good progress in getting myself to a healthy state. It’s time for this to happen, not only so I can look the way I want, but for my back, ankle, and health’s sake. The past few years have been far too painful and even in the few short weeks I’ve been working to get healthy, I can honestly feel the difference. While my back and ankle have taken a beating (working out will do that to injuries), my overall health is far better. I’ve actually cut out dairy (with exception of ONE piece of cheese here and there) and those of you who know me, know that this is no east feat for me. It has been hard. But I’m determined.

On a less serious note, last week was my birthday week. While we did spoil ourselves a bit with food, we still practiced some moderation and didn’t over-do it. *pat on the back*. I was spoiled by Paul all week and the finale was nothing short of AWESOME! He got me the perfect Lululemon running jacket (seen below) and I ADORE it. Apologies in advance to those of you who have to see me regularly – I may wear it more than I should.

My new jacket

This is the beautiful jacket Paul bought me for my birthday! He's great!! 😀

I know that this probably wont excite anyone but me, but I bought the coolest gadget today! It’s a Verbatim 4GB Clip-On USB Drive. Seriously, it’s BEAUTIFUL. THIS is a true example of form meeting function. Beautiful!!

Tis the season for love!

Christmas is just around the corner! After Paul’s exam today, we will head home to be with family and friends to enjoy the time of year!

Although my mom and step-dad won’t be around this year, (the lucky bums are in California!) and it will be hard not having them around to share some of our traditions with, I am lucky to have Paul’s wonderful family to take me in, as it were.

For the first time in a long time, I get almost 3 weeks at home! This means (with any luck at all) less stress and more time to spend with family and friends. I’m taking my little sister out on Thursday to do some tobogganing, have lunch, and see a movie! I’m SO looking forward to this! I love that little Munchkin with all my heart and time with her is precious. Can’t wait!!

Aside from that, my goal this holiday season is to forget past troubles and focus on all of the love in my life. It’s time for me to learn how to nurture what I have and apologize to those who I may have hurt – after all, tis the season!… Of love!

This will probably be the last post before Christmas so Merry Christmas to you all! May it be filled with the love and joy you deserve!
